Yoga

The Revival of Yoga Today: Yoga is not an ancient practice buried in oblivion but a very alive and living culture today. It is a timeless and eternal culture representing man's need to evolve and transcend limitations. Spirituality is the idea of transcendence, and the path advocated by the ancient mystics and seers through different cultures and ages has been yoga. People the world over are turning to yoga to achieve better health, fitter body, and relaxed mind. Through yoga there is a tuning of the body, mind and intellect, a harmony of rationality with emotions and feelings, and a blossoming of the inherent potentialities.

The Origin of Yoga: The science, philosophy and practices of yoga are universal. They are not bound by any culture, tradition or religion, nor is yoga concerned with prayers, devotion or religious beliefs. The practices of yoga are concerned with our total being: a combination of physical, mental, emotional, psychic and mysterious forces.

However, historically speaking, yoga comes from India, and it comes from the most Northern part called the middle Himalayas, the regions surrounding where the Ganga flows from the Himalayan peak down to Rishikesh and Haridwar, where many great masters, gurus, saints, sages, and spiritual personalities have lived and practiced yoga for hundreds of years.
