Puskhar the
ancient town of Rajasthan, 11 kms from Ajmer, is
situated around th sacred lake. The place is transformed
into a spectacular fair ground in the month of 'Katik'.
The fair attracts a
great number of tourists from across the world.
A temple here is dedicated to Lord Brahma.
Pushkar has three main
lakes-jaystha Pushkar, Madhyam Pushkar and Kanishtha
pushkar. The fair is one of the largest cattle fairs in
the world, in which camel are a special attraction,
Here one can see camel been raced and paraded, vendors
selling's dazzling wares and people getting themselves
tatooed. In the evening hundreds of oil lamps placed on
leaves are floated on the lake by worshippers.
During the fair the Rajasthan
Tourism Development Corporation sets up a tented
tourist village offering all basic facilities. Here,
tourists are entertained by folk dancers and musicians.
There are convenient rail and road connections to Ajmer.
the nearest airport is at Jaipur.

Pushkar is 140
kms from Jaipur and 12 kms from Ajmer. The
nearest airport is jaipur which is connected
with all major cities of india. A newly built
air strip at kishangarh can cater to small
charter flights. Helipad at Ghooghra (ajmer) and
Devnagar (pushkar) can cater to clients
travelling by helicopter.
Ajmer, the nearest town, is well connected to
all parts of the country by rail and road
network.
