Mamallapuram, a tiny seaside village also known as
mahabalipuram, is situated in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Of course mamallapuram is also more famous for its shore
temple which are of great architectural importance and
leave one with awe at their splendour but apart from
that, it is also a popular beach. The famous
bas-reliefs, Arjuna’s penance and Krishna mandapa, adorn
massive rocks near the centre of the village, while the
beautiful shore Temple towers over the waves behind a
protective brealwater.
