Cove long is a nice beach between Madras and
Mahabalipuram and a small charming fishing settlement.
It was originally a port built dsaadat Ali, Nawab of
Carnatic and it was here that the French general
Laboudonnais landd his troops in 1746. It was later
taken by Clive in 1752 and destroyed. The beach is
separated from the mainland by canal running from Madras
to Mahabalipuram.
The only hotel is fisherman’s cove, a part of his taj
