The climate of Rajasthan can be divided into four basic sub divisions which are:

This is the period when sun shines at its full strength. It is actually the hottest season that precedes the monsoon and extends from April to June. The temperature ranges from 32 degree Celsius to 45 degree Celsius. The desert in the west and the north west of the Aravali region becomes drier due to the scorching heat of the sun and the highest temperature is recorded about 45-48 degree Celsius during May and June. The one and only hill station of the state - Mount Abu records the lowest temperature during this season. In the arid regions however temperature falls steeply at night. Heavy winds, known as Andhi blow from the western boundary and bring dust storms during summer.



Though Rajasthan has desert region, it get moderate rainfall during monsoon season. The season extends from July to September and the state gets 90% of tis rainfall during this season. During this period the temperature decreases and humidity increases. The temperature ranges from 32º to 40º during monsoon. This is the most humid season of the state.


Followed by the monsoon, there comes the Post-Monsoon season, that commences from mid-September and continues till November. This season is once again characterized by heat and the average maximum temperature varies from 33 degrees C. to 38 degrees C. The average minimum temperature is between 18 degrees C and 20 degrees C



Winter season in Rajasthan is extremely cold. It extends for 4 months, from December to March. We could say that it is the best time for the visiting Rajasthan. The glorious beauty of Rajasthan can only be experienced during this season. January is the coldest month of the season. Temperature varies throughout the state and sometimes it reaches to -2—5 degree C in some part of the state.
